Lion & Bull has a state of the art soundboard and a dedicated stage to make you sound and look great. Our DJ’s Nate Brain and Kelly Pinky will offer you a two to three song set to showcase your talent. Bring your acoustic or electric guitar. We can also record your performance for you.

Big Mouth combines explosive guitars, machine gun precise rhythms, and soulful vocals with an intense longing for meaning. The members of Big Mouth are Sean “The Rick” Rickman Drums/Lead Vocals, Lenny Stevens Guitar/Vocals, and Andrew Dunbar Bass/Vocals; they all have extensive touring and recording experience with many well known artists. Talk to Big Mouth about their sound and influences and they evoke the pride of ownership entwined with a nod and a wink for the master musicians of the past, and the present that have honed and shaped their musical worlds. Attending prestigious music schools learning to site read backwards, the LA Studio Grind, or playing in the shadow of musically influential fathers, the members of Big Mouth have paid their musical dues, and are now highly regarded in their musical peer group.

Modern Thieves may seem like a new sound around town, but they’re hardly newcomers to the D.C. music scene. They came together in early 2010 and instantly broke out with a promising five-track EP and a stream of local performances. Singer Ryan Murphy brings a full vocal range and charisma to the already steady, seasoned backdrop of D.C.’s most beloved rock-reggae-soul band, Politicks (guitarist Mike Trella, bassist Brian Chafin, and drummer Brendan McCourt). With nearly a decade of professional musicianship, these Thieves expertly blend rock, alternative, and trip-hop into a sultry, pleasantly infectious groove of their own.

The Johnny Artis Band is well known in the Mid Atlantic region for their fun loving brand of R&B and Rock & Roll. They have been entertaining audiences with their current lineup for years, showing the professionalism and expertise that only comes from the experience of working together to provide the best entertainment possible. Johnny brings everything together with his engaging stage presence, establishing a comfortable rapport with any audience, and keeping them entertained without exception.
Johnny Artis was born and raised in Caroline County, Virginia. It was here he was first introduced to the sounds of gospel music that rang strong in his family. At the age of 10, he moved to his present home of Alexandria, VA. Johnny worked as a chef who received rave reviews and who excelled in the restaurant business until the age of 28. It was after the death of his mother that he decided to lay down his apron and devote himself to his (and his mother’s) first love, performing. He formed a band known as Johnny Tenspot and Loose Change, and it was here that Johnny honed the skills that would serve him as a performer. Over the years, Johnny Tenspot and Loose Change evolved into The Johnny Artis Band, and in the process created a name and reputation for good music and a great show. Johnny has overcome many obstacles in his life and it seems to have given him the ability to take a song and fill it with emotion, putting it in the audience’s heart and making them feel it from head to toe.
