tyler toliverTyler Toliver, a fresh new face on the country music scene, picked up his first guitar at age nine. He explains that it was a hot summer, and he wanted an excuse to stay inside. And in doing so, he set a course for his future that has led to an exciting career as a writer, musician and singer…..and a United States Marine.

Tyler has received accolades from his fans all around the country, that has inspired him to go into the studio and record a 10 song album that should be released by mid spring 2010, Tyler has had the privilege of opening for country music legend Joe Diffie and is in the process of booking performances thoughout Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.

The Washington D.C. Barracks magazine “Pass and Review” has just released a four page article on Tyler and his music and he has articles written in the “Bull Run Observer” and “The Montgomery County Journal.”

Tyler was born and raised in Southern Wisconsin, where he grew up running through the woods with his friends, eating bar pizzas, drinking root beer and playing pool. His mother was a bartender in Muskego, and his early cultural influences were country music, pickup trucks and cowboy boots. He loved to imitate Garth Brooks, standing in front of the jukebox with his plastic baseball bat, pretending that it was his guitar.

As a teen, he moved from pretend to the real thing, writing his own music and performing for friends and family, and anyone else who would listen. In high school, Tyler joined the ROTC, and then chose to enlist in the United States Marines upon graduation in 2007. His high school years were punctuated by success – academic honors, owning a general contracting business and receiving honors from the local ROTC.

As a Marine recruit Tyler was named ‘Company Honor Man’ and rose to the rank of Corporal in less than a year. He continues to serve our Country while writing music and performing
